About the event

We are thrilled to announce that Angie Wade will kick off our 2025 Winter Speaker Series. In 2020, Angie Wade—Tribal Historic Preservation Officer and Culture & Historic Preservation Director with the Chickaloon Village Traditional Council and Chickaloon Native Village—visited our community for a Winter Speaker Series event on Ahtna history. Her storytelling skills and deep knowledge captivated the audience, making it one of our most popular and enduring speaker events to date.

This winter, Angie returns to share her expertise in a virtual event via Zoom and Facebook Live. Her presentation will focus on Culturally Modified Trees—what they are and why they hold immense significance. With her wide-ranging knowledge of Ahtna culture, background in archaeology, and gift for storytelling, Angie’s talk promises to educate, connect, and inspire.
