Tell AIDEA to Stay Out of the West Su!
Sign on to tell Governor Dunleavy and the Alaska Legislature asking them to stop supporting AIDEA's West Su Industrial Corridor.
Dear Governor Dunleavy and Alaska State Legislators,
Alaskans have made themselves clear: we do not support the West Susitna Industrial Corridor.
The Mat-Su Borough’s own outreach in 2022 showed that over 75% of residents opposed the project. During the 2023 public comment period on DOT’s draft STIP, 87% of online comments rejected it. At a public AIDEA meeting in Skwentna in March 2025, the only voices in support were paid representatives. From the start, Alaskans have spoken out against this road.
This project is not about public access or community benefit. It is a massive public investment in a speculative mining venture—paid for by Alaskans, for the benefit of private industry.
Hunting, fishing, and recreation sustain Mat-Su’s economy and our way of life. This road threatens the businesses, lands, and communities that depend on them. Public money should benefit the people—not subsidize risky industrial development.
We urge you to respect the will of the people and reject this project.
